Tools- Two Antique Bread Rollers & Foot Stick
We at the Bodhi Sangha have developed a massage system incorporating Chappati bread Rollers. These are very old from northern India and I think of them as ancestors.
lat side-
1-Rolling Pin-
With two open hands, “forward rock”
your body on the larger muscle groups.
( Calves, Hamstrings, Glutes,
Back, Forearms...)
2- Plow-
Plow is best used with oil. with your heel of the hand, push the stick down the
larger muscle areas. ( Quads. ITB, Tibia, Forearms )
3- Hold and Press-
Place the edge of the chapatti roller along a boney landmark, squeeze with
the heel of your hand. Press the stick as well as the area your working.
If the area is too big for your hand to reach around then just pour weight on
to the whole stick. (Sacrum border, ITB, Quad. Erectors... )
4 Fanning-
Anchor one side of the stick to keep it from moving. With a forward rock,
make the shape of a fan with the chapitti stick. This techniques is best
used on the glutes, sometimes referred as the boomerang area.

5-Figure eights-
With two hands on the ends of the chapati roller, pretend you are rowing
a boat. This is used for penetrating deep into the muscle belly.
6-Lever-
Using the stick like a lever with the tip on the ground or even on the body can be
an effective wat to work two places at once or difficult areas to reach.
7- Scooping-
Use the side of the stick to scoop the larger areas of the body and create space in
the joints.
Fold-
Place side of stick behind the knee or hip and fold the body so the stick creats space.
